Based on a few recent events that most of you don't know/care about, let's clear up some stuff.
Since /u/ mods deleted my coherent posts...
We here at Dynasty are not doing shit about public raws of Sasameki Koto. We use tank scans that thetime purchases himself, scans himself, and then edits. Therefore the only reasons that other groups and anons are not doing SK is because they do not want to as we're already doing it or laziness (/u/). We have in no way attempted to prevent others from attempting to scanlate this. We're not going to do the mag raws of this anyway, so we'll never catch up by your definition.
Mangafox, OneManga, and other shitty online readers that don't ask for our permission:
We do not like how you compress the images and cause shitty blurriness for the sake of smaller file sizes. Granted, it's done to lighten the load on your servers (which are being paid for with unspecified amounts of ad revenue and a little by donations) but we still do not want that to happen.
In my words (and my words only), we don't put in all of this time just so you can fuck the pages up. We have our own reader now which magically doesn't fuck our pages up and doesn't spawn shitty flashy ads in your face. Also your watermarking thing is idiotic.
We should not have needed to put why we don't want you to host our stuff because you should have asked first and we'd have explained it (assuming it was a rejection, of course).
We'll continue going on our own pace, doing our own thing, making you rage, etc. Our policy remains the same.
For those who are questioning how my editing series are going, another editor has picked up on them. I've basically lazed my ass to hell after college began. Trying to get started back up though.
No matter what the other may say about you and all the team, i am really really grateful to you and your work. I have zero experience in image editing or japanese translation so i cannot do much for you i regret, but still, cheer.

obviously if we were doing all this work for the people who complained, then we'd probably all have quit by now. manga viewers do have their place, and in my opinion, that place is one that was a match made in heaven for speed scan groups. but we are not a speed scan group, if that wasn't painfully easy to tell.
we don't have to weather being demonized just because we have a higher ideal of quality, which is carefully upheld by Casusby and willingly pursued by the rest of the staff, but we do because we love manga, and we love to bring it to those who truly appreciate it, the ones who don't rage when we do our own thing.
even if you don't feel you have the qualifications to apply as a staff member, believe me, it is more than enough if you just provide moral support. we don't make money, and in fact, some of us like thetime actually spend a lot of money, to provide this service, so a little thank you now and again is more than we could ever ask for. i'm sure we all greatly appreciate every encouragement we receive here at Dynasty.
thanks for all of the lovely yuri stories...and i do not complain about the speed...after all...each of you do this out of the kindness in your hearts..so no one should complain.
I just wanted to come out of lurking and say I really really love the work you guys do. I don't mind waiting because I know when a new chapter finally comes out, it'll be well worth it :3
Also, in SK's "Useless Addition" I don't get the eyebrow shaving reference?

I don't understand why people don't like waiting... in my opinion it's better to wait than be disappointed with LQ releases or even worst NO releases! I'm always happy to wait for the translated version & I think DS is doing a great job of scheduling it's releases.
I admit I do read the raws on sites like JCafe just to see what is happening though

I disagree. The combination of Manga readers and Speed scan groups creates something of a vicious circle. Manga readers cater all the very first, IE, the first group to put up a chapter is the only group that gets praise in the eyes of the manga reader community. And with creation of speed groups for single series, or more recently single chapters, there is a huge influx of competition. To deal with this, 'speed' scanning is becoming to slow. So, what was before a simple corner cutting is now a complete disregard of any standard. What was once implied is no longer necessary. Im sure you have seen that some groups are completely disregarding to translate some bubbles.

i partially agree with that, too. it's terrible that readers like mangafox and onemanga unintentionally promote the worst of the worst in scanlation. however, if it weren't for them, i don't think speed scanning would have taken off like it has. i never said it was a good match up, just that it was one that seemed almost too perfect for each other.
in my opinion, big manga readers are like porn sites with their instant gratification, and all those speed scan groups are like porn stars. you can start as a porn star, but what are the chances you'll be taken seriously if you ever want to graduate up to Hollywood?
