You may be thinking, that this isn't good, that this will only spur on the flaming, well, you're right. That's was the point of this all, and it's exactly what's going to happen.
Let's start with some fun Q&A:
Q: Why has Pastel been delayed for so long?
A: Despite popular belief, asking or whining about releases almost never delays the actual release. The truth is, whenever I say that something will be delayed, that's because it wasn't ready in the first place. Asking or whining didn't stop it in the slightest. Not that I'm saying I enjoy the asking or whining, I really don't.
Q: Isn't this good that gurobatschow did 92 and 93? It made you hurry up.
A: Wrong. Allow me to describe the work history of 92 and 93. Several months ago, 92 was being worked on by Phoenixonice. Sadly she could not commit the time to editing as she has in the past, and after several weeks and little work done, she had to give it up. It floated around for a while as I looked for an editor to do it. Sadja aka. Suzu-chan stepped in but after a few weeks, it became obvious that she didn't have the time to commit either, and several internal dramas caused more delays. After this, arm_of_phong showed back up and very willingly picked up 92, finished it off and completed a version of 93. However phong was far beyond rusty, it was pretty damn inconsistant and looked horrible. phong disappeared 2 weeks ago after submitting several versions and having spent hours and hours with me in QC. 1 week ago, I finally had to do everything myself. Adding more duties onto myself in this time is quite a lot to ask, but I still did it.
Q: Why did take so long working on Pastel yourself?
A: Despite what you may believe, I'm not a very good editor, and not a very fast one. Without anyone else to work on Pastel though, I was all there was. Keep in mind that while editing, I work very hard to QC my own work numerous times.
Q: What about all those applicants and joint offers?
A: The only supposed joint offers have been on projects like No Bra that don't require any desperate help, or with groups who have proven that they don't hold the same values in scanlation. If you have two groups who disagree over what's important, nothing will get done.
As for applicants, we get a ton sometimes. And they're all for Pastel and No Bra. Except No Bra, again, doesn't require that much help, and Pastel requires absolute consistantcy, something newbie editors don't have and even fumbles people who have edited like phong. Otherwise I have to redo things myself.
Dear current applicants: I am sorry for the delay in replying to any of your applications, if you continue to pester me though, I will get back to you as soon as I can, I promise. Just keep pestering me.
Q: Why do you insist on quality over speed?
A: Firstly, fuck you again. Secondly, I hold quality top as this is a personal value of mine. This work and nearly all Dynasty work is connected to me in someway, and if I'm going to be connected to something, I'm going to do the best fucking job I can. If you don't like it, fuck you. I'm not going to bend my values for you.
Q: But you still hurried up with 92 and 93 didn't you?
A: No, fuck you. Fuck gurobatschow too. The only thing this has trigged has been rage. If you don't believe that 92 was finished the night before you released and 93 was partly done, I don't give a fuck. I'm not trying to win any public support with this post. This is all just the fucking truth.
Q: Suck it up, you took forever.
A: Fuck you yet again. I have every right to be pissed that you fuckers went out of your way to insult me and the group when we work as hard as we do for free. I'm not a prision bitch, I'm not going to lie down and take it when people throw shit at me.
Q: Way to be professional.
A: FUCK YOU. You want to talk about being professional? How about doing a fast shitty version of a release with the sole purpose of causing drama and rage. Provoking others is TOTALLY FUCKING PROFESSIONAL RIGHT? Fuck you.
For those of you who are still waiting, then good for you. I'm not going to pat you on the head or anything.
Know this, I took it upon myself to get Pastel moving again after 1 week of inactivity and then I got shitted on. I put several other QCs on hold, put off getting a job while my accounts dwindle and I got shit on. Am I personally offended? You're fucking right I am. Just the internet? Fuck you. I don't have to take shit from anyone if I don't want to.
This is all fun and nice for Pastel, but what about all our other projects? Let's have a run down.
Alice Quartet: The 2nd chapter raws were far beyond my skill level, but thankfull pararama bought the raws and personally scanned them for me. But I'm unable to work on it because I'm fixing various QCs myself still.
Ayu & Mayu: Man there was so much support for this when it started, but then editors just disappeared. I've put 4 different editors on this after Kurus, and they've all disappeared after about a week.
Bakuten: We're awaiting translations for volume 3.
BR: is going as fast as Kurus can do it.
ef: This was an attempt to bring in an editor who does speed stuff and try to work together and put out quality releases. BakaScarlet however disagreed with a lot of my QC and took a long time to get things done. Since then, his group has re-picked it back up. As far as I'm concerned, ef is dropped by us. Despite TranslatorDude having preferred his scripts going to us, I say to them to take them. I haven't even seen the guy in weeks.
H2O: No editor now, pretty much dead. drvtech is gone too.
HH: MrE is doing far too much for one editor, and so all his projects have slowed down. People who would come in and help take pressure off him would be great.
Kannagi, Gift, White Album: These three are spread between Hikage and Maria. Maria moved in December and has had no luck getting a connection due to money troubles. A member of Hikage's family recently was hospitalized, so unfortunately he's had to pull out of his duties for now.
Kemeko DX: is a type setting nightmare. pararama hates it simply because of the amount of work required. Hikage was also suppose to help with all this, but more on that later.
Nanaki!!: Mirai-hime can only do so much since she switched universities, but it's getting there.
No Bra: pararama buys and scans this as well, so it's safe to say he doesn't want to give it up.
Otoboku: Another project on MrE's shoulders and also stalled.
Other projects I've forgotten about: I've forgotten about them.
Sasameki Koto: To say the raws for this were spotty is an understatement. So, thetime went and bought his own copies of the volumes and started scanning them himself, and now is editing them himself. He also got volume 1 and added all the little volume extras as you'll see.
Twin Spica: Iviud disppeared on us, so Kurus is back on it. As soon as school will allow her anyway.
Unlimited Wings: See H2O about drvtech.
Yoake Mae: Another pararama project, could use help as well, as it's fairly simple to do.
Yuri Hime: Is probably the only shining beacon we have, and more and more it seems like we should become a yuri group.
Of course if we were to become a yuri group, that would be letting down a lot of the staff members we have who are not interested in yuri.
Let's finish with some more Q&A:
Q: Why do you want to have a "monopoly" on Pastel?
A: I don't care about the actual fact that someone else has done the chapters. If it had been some unknown person, none of this would be happening. I would actually be hurrying it. Except that's not the case, this was all done to get a reaction from us. The only reaction they'll get is indifference and FUCKING RAGE.
Q: But what about what you did with Shoujo Sect?
A: Firstly, fuck you. Secondly, go read the "About Screw Otenba" topic in the forums.
Q: How could you do all that to the fans though?
A: I don't give a fuck about the fans. Why should I care about a public that are obviously amazingly fickle about a free service?
Q: What?
A: You heard me. Don't act like we fucking hurt you because you had to wait.
Q: So why are you pissed that gurobatschow did it?
A: Several reasons, mainly because of the BLATANT provoking. You people want to praise this guy for caring about the fans? Yeah fucking right. If this guy cared, he wouldn't have provoked us over Kannagi and now over Pastel. Instead he would have tried to help push them out by DIRECTLY WORKING ON THEM.
Q: If you released more, then more people would want to join up!
A: Fuck you. Please tell me, how are we suppose to release any faster under this circumstances? With no editor now, Pastel is dead. Frankly, I don't even want to continue working on it.
Q: Why can't you be more respectful?
A: Fuck you. Respect needs to be earned and given. Show me where you have earned and given me respect, and I'll respect you back. Until then, fuck you.
In conclusion, fuck you all. Fuck gurobatschow especially, and fuck you all who have ragged on us. If you don't to believe that we were just ever so close to releasing again before this happened, fuck you.

Argh, the more I hear about this, the more it pisses me off. Quality over speed any fucking day, and I couldn't care less what other people think.
Dynasty are a fucking great group - you release more often than a hell of a lot of other groups, and you have a tonne of projects so people can read something else while the next chapter's prepared! People have to learn that you guys all have lives!
I wish I had the time and skills to be able to help you out. But I just know I'd be useful for a little while and fade out, which is why I haven't bothered; I don't wanna fuck you guys about.
In any case, you're right to tell everyone to fuck themselves. I would have, too.

I don't very much care for Pastel but i do care for Yuri, so thank you for Flower Flower and thank you very much for Sasameki Koto! So in conclusion thank you all!
From the moment people learn that you are a free service, there should be no further discussion!
I appreciate the time all of you spend on it to share manga with us, it must not be easy, and with so many projects and attention to quality the time of your releases is actually quite speedy!

and yet another nice speech... honestly, I think this was amazing, Casus-kun.
To all those who feel offended or insulted by this post: you don't have to feel that way if you think like we do. That means, if you think that having nice scans is nicer than having shitty scans, if you agree with me when I say that the thing that sucks most for an editor is people nagging, in the worst cases insulting you because you spend your free time working on something they benefit from - come on, how sick is that? I mean, yes, it sometimes takes quite a long time until a chapter is released, but hell, those who prefer having the manga fast no matter how it looks, go search for shitty raws and just watch the pictures.
Anyway, if you're with us up to that point, here are some other aspects: if you also think that nobody should complain about a free service, than you're most welcome. It is alright to ask in a friendly way or maybe to give us hints or advice, we really appreciate that, but FUCK, don't go "yo suckers whazzup with pastel bitches youre taking far too long my granny could do a better job than you"-ing us. You SUCK.
Ad the most important thing: if you enjoy reading manga just as much as we do, if you like getting nice scans and being part of a great community, then you are more welcome than we could ever tell you.
If you don't agree with us on the points I just mentioned, read the first two words of Casusby's post again and leave. Forever. We don't need ones like you. Nobody does, actually.
And one more thing: Casusby is actually a quite nice person. It's just that if someone gets on his nerves, he shows it. Please don't take it personally. If you're with us.
Kids who feel entitled to both free and instantaneous stuff on the internatz should all be shot in the head anyway. I shudder to think those whiners, who've never worked a hard day in their lives much less volunteered their time for anything, will be leading the country in however many years. (Just die already and leave your organs behind. )

Woah! I see some drama has ensued.
I would normally err on the side of indifference, but having been personally working hard on it while something like this happens has got to be infuriating.
It also would seem that the "fan base" are a load of nasty pricks, and the repeated "fuck you" denouncements, appropriate.
Nothing that involves me however, as a fan only of your yuri work, which is most excellent, and most enthusiastically, and appreciatively received! I was glad to read that that was going well.

Those people who are whining do not really know how it is hard to translate or edit a chapter. And if you dared and released a fucking quality chapter they will shot you in the head. I can't really understand how their tiny minds are working.
I really respect your group. After all you release several releases every time. Even if you take lot of time for the next release, still your scanlating quality is above all other groups. I'm welling to wait a whole year than reading a shitty quality chapter of a manga I like.
I seriously understand what it's like to be treated like shit when it comes to stuff like this. I'd offer my assistance on this project, but I was only mediorce at best in the past and I haven't edited for a LONG time. People are complete dicks, but not everyone is. Some people actually HAVE been waiting patiently for these releases and are thankful for the WONDERFUL service that you provide.
i've been a great fan of your work for a while and while i don't post often i do read the updates. i prefer quality over speed any day. the series i've been following most from you guys have been HH, Pastel, NB, otoboku, ef, Yoake mae, H2O, Kannagi, Ayu & Mayu and Kemeko. please keep up the great work and ignore the neysayers you're one of the best groups out there
I totally support your feelings of "fuck the lot of you" when you get people moaning about the speed of your releases.
One group I get stuff from hasn't released for over 12 months, but the last time I left a message, it wasn't a complaint, but a question on how life was treating the site owner (her father had died just over 12 months earlier, hence the delay.) Still haven't had a reply yet though^^;
And Animewaves haven't released anything since october. Really disapointed that they didn't give me a christmas prezzy^^;
Release stuff when they're ready, not before. If I wanted speed-scans, I'd get them. Personally, I prefer quality.
